When a client asks if you can create a cozy bar and lounge space in their unused bonus room at their Davidson home near Lake Norman, you definitely say yes!  We chose to incorporate both modern elements and traditional style to create a modern Irish pub that is now most certainly the best room in the house.

As avid travelers, these clients wanted a space in their home where they could entertain but also be reminded of the good times they have had abroad.  We designed a space with both a bar area and a comfy lounge space where they could easily fit a crowd or just have a date night at home.  By drenching the room in a deep green and adding plenty of woodwork, including coffered ceilings, we could give it that signature dark and moody pub feel.  But the modern, back lit cut agate stone slab adds a modern appeal to the space.

House of Hackney Plantasia wallpaper leads you up the stairs as you step onto reclaimed barnwood floors and belly up to an antique French oak bar circa 1900.  The floating brass and glass shelving was custom made to hold the back lit stone slab in place and also house an extensive bourbon collection that the clients have.  Leather tufted bar stools and plaid wool upholstered swivel chairs make for a luxurious bar experience.

On the other side of the room, a lush green velvet sofa invites you to cozy up and watch TV.  The TV is nestled into built-in bookcases that house an antique book collection illuminated by brass library lights.  A hidden door in the bookcase reveals a closet to hide your AV equipment and maybe some of those more precious bourbons that you only want to bring out on special occasions.
